Leaving a Legacy to The Birmingham Humanists
Everyone should make a will. It's
the prudent thing to do to ensure that your final wishes
are carried out. You should, of course, leave as much as
you can to your family and friends. However, we would be
most grateful if you felt able to leave a small legacy
to your local Birmingham Humanists group.
We receive no funding or grants of any kind from any
official body. Everything we do is funded through
members' subscriptions and donations from supporters.
If you would like to leave a legacy to the Birmingham
Humanists as part of your will, mention this to your
solicitor. We promise you that every penny we receive is
independently audited and it all goes to the humanist
cause.
Here is some suggested wording, which you or your
solicitor could use or adapt when including the
Birmingham Humanists in your will: "I give (insert the
amount of your legacy here) to the Birmingham Humanists,
for its general purposes, and I declare that the receipt
of the Treasurer or other elected officer of the
Birmingham Humanists shall be a full and sufficient
discharge for my executors."
With the kind permission of her family, you can read
about how we have used the legacy given to us by
Anne White.
We are, of course, also most grateful for any financial
support that people are able to give us during their
lifetime. If you would like to make a donation, please
click the button on the right or contact us at the
address provided.
For over 40 years Birmingham Humanists have stood as the
local voice of Humanism in the Midlands. You can help us
carry on our important work. Thank you.
