About Me: I was born and bred in
Birmingham, and spent thirty four years teaching in various Primary Schools. I am
a mother to two and a grandmother. I live on the south side of the city, but am
willing to conduct ceremonies anywhere in the Birmingham or Coventry post code area
as well as further afield by prior discussion. If you decide on a Humanist
Ceremony I will visit you to discuss what you would like included. We begin
with a blank sheet of paper. I have examples of past ceremonies you may wish to
look at for ideas. Your ceremony will be unique, individually written
especially for you. I will be able to advise you on what works and what may pose something of a problem. I have extensive experience to draw on both individually and across a national network. |

The fundamental point about a Humanist ceremony is that it has no religious content. It is quite acceptable to have a moment or two of reflection during the ceremony, where guests with a religious belief may have a private prayer if that is their way. |
||
|
At Wedding, Partnership or Affirmation Ceremonies, the focus is on the couple and their commitment to one another (and their children if they have any), as well as our responsibilities to each other as human beings. |

|
|
Naming, Adoption or Welcoming ceremonies welcome a baby to the world and to the family & friends. | |
|
Humanist funerals are a celebration of someone's life and can be a cremation, burial, woodland burial or scattering of ashes |
|
| Often
ceremonies include music, poems and readings. Members of the family and
friends can contribute directly to the ceremony, making for a real family occasion |
